Cook

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes from their assigned station, ensuring that all prep work is completed and that dishes are served according to Sipeos’ standards. You will work closely with the Lead Cook and Kitchen Manager to maintain the quality and efficiency of your station. This role is ideal from someone looking to grow their skills in a professional kitchen environment and become an integral part of the Sipeos culinary team. 


Key Responsibilities:

Station Preparation & Cooking

  • Complete all prep work for your assigned station before service begins, including portioning, chopping, and marinating ingredients as directed. 

  • Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes, ensuring consistency in flavor, presentation, and portion sizes. 

  • Focus on mastering the pre, cooking, and plating techniques for your specific station, delivering high-quality dishes every time. 

  • Maintain a clean and organized station throughout your shift, following all health and safety protocols. 

Quality Control & Plating

  • Ensure that each dish leaving your station meets the presentation and flavor standards set by Sipeos. 

  • Pay close attention to detail in plating, making sure that each dish looks appealing and matches the standards outlined by the Lead Cook and Kitchen Manager.

  • Taste-test dishes when necessary to ensure the quality and balance of flavors. 

Communication & Teamwork

  • Work closely with the Lead Cook, Kitchen Manager, and other cooks to ensure smooth kitchen operations, especially during high-volume service. 

  • Communicate any shortages, equipment issues, or other concerns to the Lead Cook or Kitchen Manager promptly to maintain service flow. 

  • Assist with basic prep tasks outside of your station as needed to support the team, ensuring that all kitchen tasks are completed on time. 

Cleanliness & Organization

  • Clean and sanitize your station and equipment throughout your shift, ensuring a hygienic workspace. 

  • Follow proper safety and handling protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure guest safety. 

  • Assist with end-of-day cleaning and closing procedures as directed by the Lead Cook or Kitchen Manager.

Learning & Development

  • Take direction from the Lead Cook and Kitchen Manager, using their feedback to improve your skills and performance. 

  • Show a willingness to learn new techniques and expand your knowledge of other stations and the overall kitchen operations. 

  • Demonstrate a passion for culinary arts and a desire to grow within the Sipeos kitchen team.


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role. 

  • Strong knife skills and basic knowledge of food preparation techniques. 

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a focus on quality. 

  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations. 

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, as well as stand for extended periods of time.
